This research paper provides a comprehensive
examination of digital privacy protection in an era characterized by pervasive
internet usage, rapid technological advancement, and escalating cyber threats.
Employing a mixed-methods approach that includes a systematic literature
review, quantitative surveys, qualitative expert interviews, and detailed case
study analysis, the study investigates the technical, legal, social, and
economic dimensions of digital privacy. The findings reveal a significant
discrepancy between user expectations for privacy and the actual practices of
corporations in handling personal data. The research validates the critical
role of robust encryption technologies, the positive yet complex impact of
legislative frameworks like the GDPR, and the importance of user awareness,
while also highlighting persistent implementation gaps. The dual nature of
technology—as both a source of vulnerability and a tool for protection—is a
central theme. The paper concludes with a set of integrated, actionable
recommendations for users, corporations, governments, and researchers,
emphasizing that safeguarding digital privacy is a continuous, collaborative
endeavor essential for upholding fundamental human rights and maintaining trust
in the digital ecosystem.
