The above conclusions give us grounds to assess that
the agricultural sector in Bulgaria is reducing its economic role in the
national economy by slowing down its growth. The problem with the downward
trend in the overall indicators in absolute terms is the result of interrelated
reasons within the sector – structural, market, production, land resource and
investment, which leads to inefficiency and low competitiveness. This is
sufficient grounds to accept the hypothesis that the agricultural sector is
economically inefficient and uncompetitive and is a problem for the development
of the economy as a whole and to assess it as economically unsustainable.
